I know this is starting to sound like a broken record, but the fishing this week was the same as it was last week... WIDE OPEN!
There continues to be a great tuna bite to the south between Cabo Pulmo and Los Frailes, with most boats catching limits on nice tuna
.This week the biggest tuna landed weighed in at a whopping 264 lbs. We also saw tuna in the 60lb.-100lb. range, with football size tuna as well.
Most anglers are using sardines, cedar plugs and small to medium marlin lures.
The dorado bite also continues to be very good, with over 500 dorado landed this week between all four resorts.
The billfish was a little slower than last week, but I attribute that to the great tuna bite. Those who did land billfish went north approximately 20 miles north of Punta Pescadero near Bahia de Los Suenos.
We also saw some nice wahoo numbers with over 20 landed this week. Some of the other species landed this week included amber jack, pargo, pompano, roosterfish, and bonita. The giant squid are still being caught right out in front of Hotel Palmas De Cortez with over 150 landed this week.
