| 5/9: The
Marlin bite continues to impress. Many of our regular visitors
have stated that they have never seen so many Marlin in the
East Cape. The 200 plus Marlin that were hooked is just the
tip of the iceberg. Many guests have reported that they saw
many more Marlin that just were not hungry. The Striped Marlin
have been ranging from 120-200 pounds. Some boats reported
catching up to 9 in one day. The Dorado bit is really hot
near Cerralvo Island to the ocho-ocho marker, were you can
expect to see Dorado from 25-55 pounds. Pargo and Cabrilla
are now being seen by the dozen near Punta Pescadero near
shore. Down by Punta Colorada all the way to Los Farriles,
many fishermen are reporting plenty of Skip Jacks as well
as Roosters. I’m also happy to report that our first
Blue Marlin was caught and released on May 6th. We hope that
is a sign of things to come. All in all, the fishing in the
East Cape has been better than ever. With the exception of
Yellowfin, everything else is wide open. We hope to see the
return of the Yellowfin in the next month or so. There has
been plenty of bait in the water, so the bait situation continues
to improve as well. That’s it for this week. Tight
Lines everyone!!! |
